The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, is
building up tons of sand and excitement for the most “sandsational” exhibit
ever constructed at The Magic House. This summer you won’t have to go any
farther than The Magic House’s own backyard to experience a day at the
beach. We are “shore” the entire family will dig the return of Sandcastle
Beach, at The Magic House June 7 – August 5, 2007.
With the help of ten truckloads of sand, The Magic House’s backyard is being
transformed once again into a beachfront park, complete with tons of sand,
hidden seashells, ocean misters, lifeguard stands and beach umbrellas.
At Sandcastle Beach, you can take a stroll along the boardwalk; search for
some seashells; feel the spray of the ocean on your face; and, build
along-side a world-champion sand sculptor as he sculpts a gigantic 75-ton
sandcastle along our shores! As a sand-artist-in-residence, June 7th
through June 24th, our sand artist will teach children how to sculpt their
own castles like a professional!

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum brings
life to more extraordinary hands-on adventures with the opening of The
Amazing Castle. Visitors to the exhibit are transported to a magical place
and time – inside the castle’s stone walls lays a happy and peaceful little
community where every citizen has a special job to do.
While inside The Amazing Castle, children can try on costumes and engage in
role-play, by becoming lords and ladies, castle villagers, or even “HiJinx
the Jester.” After picking vegetables in the garden, friends and family can
take a seat at the royal table while children prepare a meal using wooden
bowls, cooking utensils and a fireplace complete with a glowing fire, a spit
and a cauldron. Within the Tailor Shop, children and adults can try their
hand at repairing and making clothing for all the castle citizens then move
on to the Carpenter’s Shop where they can grab a work apron and build a
simple table or chair using mortise and tenon construction, and finally,
inside the Blacksmith Shop children can pretend to repair iron tools using a
stone forge with “glowing” coals, a water bucket, and Synge’s anvil.

The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, is
building up tons of sand and excitement for the most “sandsational” exhibit
ever constructed at The Magic House. This summer you won’t have to go any
farther than The Magic House’s own backyard to experience a day at the
beach. We are “shore” the entire family will dig the return of Sandcastle
Beach, at The Magic House June 7 – August 5, 2007.
With the help of ten truckloads of sand, The Magic House’s backyard is being
transformed once again into a beachfront park, complete with tons of sand,
hidden seashells, ocean misters, lifeguard stands and beach umbrellas.
At Sandcastle Beach, you can take a stroll along the boardwalk; search for
some seashells; feel the spray of the ocean on your face; and, build
along-side a world-champion sand sculptor as he sculpts a gigantic 75-ton
sandcastle along our shores! As a sand-artist-in-residence, June 7th
through June 24th, our sand artist will teach children how to sculpt their
own castles like a professional!

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum brings
life to more extraordinary hands-on adventures with the opening of The
Amazing Castle. Visitors to the exhibit are transported to a magical place
and time – inside the castle’s stone walls lays a happy and peaceful little
community where every citizen has a special job to do.
While inside The Amazing Castle, children can try on costumes and engage in
role-play, by becoming lords and ladies, castle villagers, or even “HiJinx
the Jester.” After picking vegetables in the garden, friends and family can
take a seat at the royal table while children prepare a meal using wooden
bowls, cooking utensils and a fireplace complete with a glowing fire, a spit
and a cauldron. Within the Tailor Shop, children and adults can try their
hand at repairing and making clothing for all the castle citizens then move
on to the Carpenter’s Shop where they can grab a work apron and build a
simple table or chair using mortise and tenon construction, and finally,
inside the Blacksmith Shop children can pretend to repair iron tools using a
stone forge with “glowing” coals, a water bucket, and Synge’s anvil.

Sandcastle Beach IV

The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, is
building up tons of sand and excitement for the most “sandsational” exhibit
ever constructed at The Magic House. This summer you won’t have to go any
farther than The Magic House’s own backyard to experience a day at the
beach. We are “shore” the entire family will dig the return of Sandcastle
Beach, at The Magic House June 7 – August 5, 2007.
With the help of ten truckloads of sand, The Magic House’s backyard is being
transformed once again into a beachfront park, complete with tons of sand,
hidden seashells, ocean misters, lifeguard stands and beach umbrellas.
At Sandcastle Beach, you can take a stroll along the boardwalk; search for
some seashells; feel the spray of the ocean on your face; and, build
along-side a world-champion sand sculptor as he sculpts a gigantic 75-ton
sandcastle along our shores! As a sand-artist-in-residence, June 7th
through June 24th, our sand artist will teach children how to sculpt their
own castles like a professional!

The Amazing Castle

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum brings
life to more extraordinary hands-on adventures with the opening of The
Amazing Castle. Visitors to the exhibit are transported to a magical place
and time – inside the castle’s stone walls lays a happy and peaceful little
community where every citizen has a special job to do.
While inside The Amazing Castle, children can try on costumes and engage in
role-play, by becoming lords and ladies, castle villagers, or even “HiJinx
the Jester.” After picking vegetables in the garden, friends and family can
take a seat at the royal table while children prepare a meal using wooden
bowls, cooking utensils and a fireplace complete with a glowing fire, a spit
and a cauldron. Within the Tailor Shop, children and adults can try their
hand at repairing and making clothing for all the castle citizens then move
on to the Carpenter’s Shop where they can grab a work apron and build a
simple table or chair using mortise and tenon construction, and finally,
inside the Blacksmith Shop children can pretend to repair iron tools using a
stone forge with “glowing” coals, a water bucket, and Synge’s anv
