Masterworks Concert

Historic Downtown Liberty Farmer's Market

Each Saturday, from May through late October, the air in Historic Downtown Liberty will be filled with the smells of fresh garden flowers, baked goods, vegetables, fruits, honey, jams and jellies.
The Historic Downtown Liberty Farmer’s Market, in its first year sponsored by Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc., will be located on Franklin Street and Main Street in beautiful Historic Downtown Liberty. The market will be open each Saturday from May 3rd through October 25th from 7:00am until 12:00pm.
The market will also include an entertainment plaza from 9:00 a.m. until noon on the north side of the courthouse. The entertainment plaza will feature a variety of live entertainment including children’s activities, cooking demonstrations, music and dancing.

LYDIA’S HOUSE TO HOLD THIRD ANNUAL GARDEN TEA PARTY

Lydia’s House will hold its Third Annual Garden Tea Party on May 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac. Sponsored by The Friends of Lydia’s House, the afternoon tea will be filled with activities including flower pot painting and planting, a duck pond, hair styling, raffles and a silent auction. Reservations for adults are $35; youth ages 13-18 are $25 and children 12 and under are $15. In addition, handmade, one-of-a-kind dollhouses will be raffled off; tickets are 1 for $25 and 6 for $100. Proceeds will benefit Lydia’s House, which provides transitional housing for abused women and their children.
“The Garden Tea Party is a fun, elegant way to spend an afternoon while raising money for an important cause,” said Nikki Pearlstone, Garden Tea Party Committee Chair. “And it also serves to raise awareness about domestic violence for a younger generation.”

The Lee’s Summit Historic Preservation Commission and the Lee’s Summit Historical Society cordially invite you to “Celebrate Our Historic Neighborhoods” on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 10AM until 2PM with the first walking tour of the historic Howard Neighborhood which is located south of the downtown. The tour will begin at the corner of 5th and S.E. Douglas Streets.
Experience the first in a series of walking tours of historic neighborhoods. Hear the stories of the homes and their early residents from Lee’s Summit North High School Debate Students.

Arrows on the road, maps, and cue sheets guide the cyclists in crossing northeast St. Charles County from Portage Des Sioux to St. Peters and beyond, on familiar country roads. Lunch served at the Church Senior Center. (Lunch available for non-riding family/friends for only $5 each.)

The St. Louis Senior Olympics promotes the health and wellness of men and women 50 years of age and older by providing them opportunities to participate in competitive and social events. This Olympic-style competition offers 85 different events including an art competition, basketball, bowling, cycling, darts, golf tournaments, softball, swimming, track and field and more. Strawberry Fields Forever Bike Ride

Join us on a tribute to the Beatles on this 1960’s themed ride! Register: 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. where you hear Beatles Music from the Boombox at Eckert’s. Pedal over flat, marked country roads with a few small hills. Chose a route: Strawberry Fields Forever (14 miles), The Yellow Submarine (22 miles), or Sgt.
