Welcome to Missouri Life’s #DiscoveryGram! Each week we select a photographer we love from around the state to share photos of their recent travels, adventures, and discoveries. We hope that in doing so, we can show our readers a glimpse of what’s going on all around them within the borders of the Show-Me State. If you’re not following us on Instagram, you’re missing out!Â
Missouri nature photographer Matt Faupel took over our Instagram and shared photos from his exploration of Northwest MO from about this time last year. Matt was searching out the beautiful and disappearing natural landscapes that are unique to this corner of the state. Savannas of gnarly bur oaks and rolling prairies of deep soil loess hills erode into rugged landscapes as they give way to the Missouri River valley. Here’s a sampling of a few of the places Matt visited.
