• Battle of Athens State Historic Site staff invites the public to stop by and view the Missouri State Parks Commemorative Bicentennial Quilts on Wednesday, Sept. 22 and Thursday, Sept. 23. Missouri State Parks staff and volunteers created two quilts to tell a visual story of Missouri for its bicentennial commemoration. The quilts will be on display at the historic site at the following times and locations:
• Sept. 22: Smith Hotel, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sept. 22: shelter house, 5-7 p.m.
• Sept. 23: Smith Hotel, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
