It was announced that Frank James had decided to live again in Kearney, MO along with his wife. He also stated (through his attorney) that his aged mother was planning to live with them. To make the family complete again, the body of Jesse James would be moved from its grave of twenty years. Every rig in Kearny and Excelsior Springs was rented out for the day so people could watch the procession.

Eleven automobiles were running a 25-mile endurance race to Manchester Mills when a boy ran out and poked a stick through the spokes of one of the wheels. The boy was injured and his father said, "It's a purty thing for city folks to come out to the country and run down innocent children." Yes, that kind of parent was around way back then too.
