Rocheport, MO— A Missouri Life TV episode on Route 66 in Missouri, produced by The Evoke Group (Columbia), received a Mid-America Chapter Regional Emmy Award for Best Magazine Program at the virtual National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-America Emmy Awards (NATAS) on November 21. The Evoke Group produces Missouri Life episodes for television, and this fall is the fourth season that Missouri Life TV has earned an Emmy. The 30-minute program that won the Emmy was the second of two parts that tells stories of Route 66 in Missouri, covering Carthage, Joplin, and Lebanon.

“We’re all really proud of the show, and this season was our best yet in my opinion.” says Evan Wood, Editor of Missouri Life magazine and executive producer of the series. “All of the stories we got to tell this season, including this one about Missouri’s most iconic highway, help viewers discover the beauty and complicated history of our state.”

“I’m blown away.” says Austin Kolb, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of The Evoke Group. “We knew we poured our hearts into this production, put in the late nights of production, even rented an additional office for the video team during post-production – but I couldn’t have expected this level of recognition from an esteemed award like this. I’m proud of our team, Missouri Life, our host Meredith Hoenes, and lastly myself.”

“I am so very thankful to be a part of this show,” says Will Moore, Video Director at The Evoke Group and producer of the series. “Not only learning about the wonderful people and places that call our state home but being able to share that with the world is extremely fulfilling. I already felt like a winner having a hand in production, going on adventures doing what I love, and meeting so many amazing folks; this Emmy just puts it over the top!”

“I have always been fond of and in love with this state. Missouri Life takes that love and appreciation to another level,” adds Meredith Hoenes, host of the series. “I’m even being introduced to places, people and history I never even knew about. It’s a great educational and fun experience.”

The episode of Missouri Life TV aired on several television stations around the state, and also appears on Missouri Life’s YouTube channel.

The Mid-America Chapter of NATAS includes TV stations (both commercial and Public Broadcasting) and production companies, and awards excellence in journalism in a region that encompasses all of Missouri, Arkansas, and parts of Illinois and Louisiana.
