When autumn leaves start to fall, there’s no better place to be than a spring. Missouri is home to more than 2,000 springs, which pump fresh water into our state’s rivers and provide a beautiful backdrop for cool-weather hikes and canoe outings.
Eminence
Today astronaut Tom Akers was born in St. Louis. He grew up in Eminence and graduated from Eminence High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1973 and 1975, respectively.
Astronaut, Tom Akers, lifted off on the first of his four space shuttle flights. Akers was born in St. Louis and grew up in Eminence, MO. He graduated from high school in Eminence and from the Missouri Science & Technology University in Rolla. (Bachelors & Masters Degrees)
