Space, the “final frontier,” according to Star Trek. Another popular astronaut (albeit an animated one), Buzz Light Year declared “to infinity and beyond.” Light years away, space will actually be quite close on Saturday, April 6, 2023, in Kansas City.
Alan Shepard became the first American to go into space. His Mercury capsule is one of twenty spaceships to be built in St. Louis by McDonnell-Douglas.
