Rock the cabin this weekend at Sappington House this Saturday, Sept. 24, concert at Sappington Park at Crestwood.

There are a 40-acre original, unplowed prairies south of Sedalia, and the public is invited to come to see it Saturday, October 1, at the Missouri Prairie Foundation’s dedication of the plot, called the Goodnight–Henry Prairie.

The atmosphere was the perfect fit for the vision Holly and Bradley had for an independent movie theater in Joplin. On April 13, they opened Bookhouse Cinema at 715 East Broadway. The theater exhibits film series based on classic masterpieces and runs special features highlighting the Cranes’ favorite directors.

As a landlocked state, Missouri isn’t exactly a hub for lighthouses. Yet there are a few places within our borders to experience these iconic pieces of nautical life. All of Missouri’s lighthouse structures are ornamental, but they still offer up interesting history, a study in architecture, great views, or at the very least, a fun photo-op.

Taking the outdoors to the West Bottoms, two entrepreneurs have brought urban axe throwing to Kansas City. Blade & Timber founders Matt Baysinger and Ryan Henrich got their start in the escape room business with Breakout KC.

Jeremiah Scull and his wife, Kari, and their two daughters have been raising a small herd of reindeer since 2014 at their farm called Show-Me Reindeer LLC in Robertsville. Each winter, the Sculls trot the reindeer around the state as living Christmas traditions.
