Between their orchards, holiday celebrations, event and wedding venue, bakery, coffee shop, and on-site Airbnb, the Middaugh family has created spaces to bring people together.
In 2013, owners Jeanne and Chad Middaugh bought land in Garden City, moved their two kids there, and transformed it into The Cider House (now known as Stillmeadow: updated 2025)—a farm and event space where guests can gather with others.

The origins of The Cider house began in 1978. Jeanne’s parents began a seed-growing company, ran a fruit stand, and sold baked goods on the same land where the Middaughs now own and operate The Cider House.
Visitors can pop into the coffee shop and bakery, Cultivate Coffee + Health Bar, from 7 AM to 3 PM Wednesdays through Fridays and 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays, or attend a pottery or floral arrangement workshop or cooking class. Multicourse farm-totable dinners are also offered once a month, featuring locally grown food prepared by local chefs.

“We base our menu off of what is in season, and we work with five or six different chefs for each farm-to-table dinner,” Jeanne says. The business is a passion project for the family. “It’s more than just an event center to us,” Jeanne explains. “It’s actually bonding with people, connecting with them through food, and hosting them. I hope that people see God through us and see our faith and that we can be a light to them.”
