Truman Day

Celebrate Truman’s Birthday with the Harry S. Truman Birthplace State Historic Site and the Barton County Chamber of Commerce.

Enjoy a full day of free family fun with historic demonstrators, WWI re-enactors, live music, a baby show, dog show, kids’ games, craft and food vendors, and wagon rides. All events are free to attend, including parking, unless otherwise noted.

Join us as we retrace the route Harry S. Truman took for the dedication of the Birthplace site in 1959. As part of Barton County’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, we are excited to host our very first Patriotic Parade.

Show your patriotic spirit by decorating your truck, UTV, wagon, tractor, golf cart, motorcycle, or yourself in red, white, and blue. Come help us celebrate America and make this a memorable day for the whole community.
