Bloom and Bindings, a boutique store in Boonville, transports visitors into a fantasy of good books, unique gifts, and reading nooks. This book shop was opened by Amanda Penrod in 2024 and combines everything that a story lover could dream of, including coffee and tea, handmade local goods, and notable reads.
The store spans two separate buildings filled with books and gift items, connected by a covered porch and outdoor seating area. In one building, buyers can browse through both local authors and all-time bestsellers, candles, a make-your-own bookmark charm bar, and more. In the other, a fireplace, plush couches, and a small rise of steps leading to a landing of vintage records invite visitors to linger.
In addition to cozy corners and warm fireplaces, this store also houses something extra special: foster cats in need of a forever home. Before opening in 2024, Amanda had never fostered before, but as she says, “bookstores and cats just go together.” After a year in business, Amanda has helped over a dozen cats find homes. Visitors can see pictures of the cats adopted through Bloom and Bindings behind its checkout counter.
