Apparition Bar – North Kansas City and Independence

Two distinct pop-ups are bringing spooky sips to KC. Apparition: Dracula will take place at Vignettes (2376 Armour Rd, North KC) while the former morgue beneath 3 Trails Brewing Co. (111 N. Main Street, Independence) will host Apparition: Spookeasy.

Through October. 31, each bar will offer a selection of creepy cocktails featuring liquor from local favorites such as Tom’s Town Distilling Co., J. Rieger & Co., Restless Spirits Distilling, S.D. Strong Distilling, Lifted Spirits, and Mean Mule Distilling Co. Both bars are open now through October 31 with Spookeasy operating Thursday-Saturday and Dracula running Thursday-Sunday. Both locations will be open on Halloween.

Dark Forest – Powell Gardens

Performance art collective, Quixotic, and Powell Gardens will present an immersive, multimedia walk-through installation in the woods. Dark Forest showcases contemporary dance, cirque arts, music, and innovative creative technology to give participants a magical and mysterious experience.

Elements like alluring trees, mesmerizing black waters, and glowing owls will lend to the spellbinding atmosphere. Dark Forest runs October 22-24 and 28-31, 7-11 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. for refreshments and time in the Gardens for ticketholders.

Troostapolooza – 30th & Troost, KC

At nearly 11 miles long, Troost Avenue is a major street that runs north to south in KC. On October 2, Troostapolooza will celebrate the community along this historic and dynamic thoroughfare. From noon to 8 p.m., the family-friendly festival will feature art, culture, music, outdoor sports activities, and local food and drink.
