In between shelves of unpainted pottery and wooden decorations, families and children laugh and buzz with excitement. At Unique Creations in Jefferson City, people can paint stoneware, fuse glass, create wooden decor and door hangings, pour candles, make handprint art pieces, or participate in an Intro to Glass Blowing class.
With no prior art experience, Lisa Kindle opened the business in 2006 as a pottery painting studio; it has since expanded into many avenues of art creation. “I wanted a creative outlet for families,” Lisa says. “Our community needed something like this.”

She later adds, “I never thought when I started I would be doing this for 19 years. It started out as a place for my kids and other people’s kids.”
Unique Creations also offers summer camps and year-round workshops. Past workshops have been on stamped jewelry, canvas painting, an introduction to pottery, Christmas ornament painting, and wreath making.
