Fred Conway, Sainte Genevieve Art Colony Instructor 25th Anniversary Promenade des Arts presented over four weeks from mid-July-August, the exhibit explores the art and life of acclaimed artist and instructor Fredrick E. Conway (1900-1973) A master of watercolor, oil, and encaustic painting, Conway defied categorization. Equally adept at classical portraiture, vibrant abstraction, and impressionistic landscapes, his remarkable versatility is reflected in the exhibition of 48 original museum-quality works. Each artwork will be accompanied by interpretive panels highlighting aspects of Conway’s artistic legacy. More than two dozen archival photographs will provide historical context, and a commemorative exhibit brochure will feature key highlights of the collection.
This is a rare opportunity to experience works never before exhibited in Ste. Genevieve.
Exhibit hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00p.m. Thursday through Sunday, July 18th through August 9th, following the opening reception at 6:00 p.m. on July 17th. Ste Genevieve Art Center and Art Museum, 310 Merchant Street, Sainte Genevieve, Mo. 63670. Free and open to public.
