Fast Lane Classic Cars Offers Up Yesteryear

by Rebecca French Smith

This article is presented in partnership with Fast Lane Classic Cars

Whether you’re nostalgic for the golden age of scenic highway travel, you love the sleek lines of vintage American metal, or you simply appreciate the wind in your hair, Fast Lane Classic Cars in St. Charles can get you where you want to go when it comes to classic cars.

Fast Lane Classic Cars began on a whim when David Williams sold a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in Calypso Coral for a friend. Bitten by the bug to sell classic cars, Williams and his wife Laura established the company in 1994.Since then, it has grown to a five-building campus that includes a detail and restoration shop, a service department, an event space, and of course three showrooms that feature rotating lineups of more than two hundred cars, trucks, and motorcycles, dating from 1924 to 2019, in their inventory.

The company is known worldwide for its diverse, quality selection. It has sold and delivered vehicles to clients in Greece, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland, among others. It’s also one of the Midwest’s largest Backdraft dealers and specializes in custom-built Cobra replicas.

The staff has passion for and extensive knowledge of cars from every era. As a result, there isn’t much the service technicians don’t do. They can take care of everything from small issues like a tire rotation to a full frame-off restoration to restore a car to like-new condition. They also specialize in adding modern conveniences like air conditioning and disc brakes to older cars to make them more reliable and fun to drive.

Detailing is also part of their repertoire. Whether your car is vintage or brand new, the techs can correct minor paint issues and dents, make windshield repairs, add pinstripes, and wash, vacuum, and clean the places no one sees, like the air ducts and engine bay. They also offer ceramic coating, which is more permanent than frequent waxing, to protect the paint.

If nostalgia is more your speed, the company’s buildings feature automobile art, memorabilia, and antiques curated from around the world, and its gift shop and online store might have that perfect vintage or vintage-inspired item to take home. The Route 66 and 1950’s and 1960’s-themed event space can host up to eighty people for special occasions like milestone birthday parties, anniversary parties, and other special events

Vehicular yesteryear is only a click or a road trip away. For more information about Fast Lane Classic Cars hours, services, or appointments, visit FastLaneCars.com.
