Tour de France? More like Tour de Jefferson City. The Historic City of Jefferson is hosting a tour of select historic homes on Fairmont Boulevard and Fairmount Court in Jefferson City.

The event will be held from 1 PM to 5 PM on May 3. The tour will include a stop at Common Ground, which was previously the Old General Store, located at 1015 E. Atchison.
The event has been occurring for almost 20 years and is aimed at “showcasing old homes in the community and to raise funds to support our [The Historic City of Jefferson] mission to preserve historic homes and businesses in our Capital city,” says Stacy Landwehr, president of the organization hosting the event.
Some previous tours included homes on Capitol Avenue and Forest Hill, the Golden Hammer Award buildings, a shoe factory, and local churches.
“Individuals appreciate the variety of architectural styles and interior decorations, as these elements offer inspiration for their own home decor.” Stacy says. “Additionally, they demonstrate how older homes can be revitalized. Traditionally, our home tours have taken place during the autumn season; however, hosting a spring event may highlight the exterior of the homes adorned with spring blooms.”
The event will be held rain or shine.
