Open Sew at Abby’s Quilt Shop

by Sydney Jones

Once a month, Abby’s Quilt Shop in Centralia opens its doors to anyone who loves to sew with an event called “Open Sew.” The Open Sew event was created to provide a collaborative time where those working on a sewing project, or those who are wanting to begin sewing something new, can do so in community.

“I enjoy the Open Sew events because it’s a fun way to make new friendships, ask questions with other quilters, and have fun working on a project,” says Abby Sudbrock, owner of Abby’s Quilt Shop.

Although Open Sew is a community event, each person attending will need to bring in their own materials and sewing machine. The event runs Saturday January 11th, 2025 from 10 AM–4PM with an admission fee of $5. Visitors can stay for an hour, for the duration of the day, or for however long works best for them.

Open Sew is held at the Shop each month at 945 HWY 22, Centralia, MO 65240
