Waves Cider Co. opened up at the end of July on Nebraska Avenue. After owning Logboat Brewing Co. for six years, the founders wanted to branch out and open another spot for Columbia locals to enjoy. But don’t think this is a second location for Logboat—it’s an entirely different business. Choose between ciders, Logboat beer, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages with more beverages constantly in the works. The new ciders are also available in cans. Race Matters, Friends, a nonprofit united in fighting for racial equality, is hosting their next Police Public Policy Review and Input on August 27. This is a time to discuss policies under review that are currently on the City of Columbia Calendar. If you attend in person, a mask and social distancing is required. Call the store to order your ticket, then pick up your pie making kit that includes ingredients for twelve tarts. As you’re making your sweets, try to guess what flavor they are. Inside of the kit, there is a sealed answer key for you to open at the end that reveals the flavors.
