14 Mill Market, Southwest Missouri’s first food hall, is hosting an evening plant swap on July 11 in Nixa, MO! Plant lovers can bring a houseplant or a cutting, and trade with others on the hall’s turf area while enjoying cocktails from Turf Bar, an RV camper turned pop-up bar, and music from local DJ Miguel. Tanja Lambert, manager of 14 Mill Market, says the team wanted to foster community at the marketplace through a free event.
“Instead of focusing the event around sales and bringing vendors in to sell, we thought it would be a great idea to bring people in to just swap what they already have and spend time out on that turf area, where they can connect and engage with other people that have like-minded hobbies,” Tanja says.
Also in attendance will be Divine Links Permanent Jewelry, for those looking to add a bit of sparkle to their evening. For those looking for a bite, 14 Mill Market boasts 10 restaurant and sweet treat options in addition to music. Green-thumbed attendees can swap a plant, have a sip, and grab dinner or dessert while enjoying community and entertainment.

Owners of the food hall Rich and Leah Callahan developed 14 Mill Market in early 2021 after a road trip to Tulsa, OK, wanting to fulfill what they felt was a need for a first-of-its-kind food marketplace in Southwest Missouri. The marketplace is inspired by their urban roots and love of travel, combined with community hospitality. Now, the food hall is a busy and sprawling hub, hosting a variety of events multiple times a week and keeping a consistently packed calendar.
Tanja says the event is an opportunity for people to share a piece of their home with their neighbors.
“We offer that community space where people can come in and be able to share the things they love,” she says.
