Take Me Out to the Festival

Grab your friends and family and slide into first base this weekend at the Mountain Grove Heritage Festival in the city square in Mountain Grove August 8th-9th. This year’s theme is ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ and celebrates the area’s baseball and softball heritage.

Attendees can expect over 175 vendors, food trucks, displays of baseball memorabilia, a dunking booth, trading card collectors, batting and pitching cages, bounce houses, and more.

“It’s one of the biggest festivals in the town and it brings in a lot of people- anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 just on the weekend,” event coordinator Onna Bushong says. “It’s really beneficial for our town.”

There will also be a free concert on Friday evening featuring the Bellamy Brothers and music throughout the afternoon on Saturday.

“Everybody loves the Friday night concert,” Onna says. “Everybody enjoys them, dances, and is happy. There’s good food— that’s the event I’ve enjoyed most over the years.”
