Fast Lane Classic Cars in St. Charles will team up with the Dokaj Foundation again this year to bring smiles, cheer, and presents to children in need in the St. Louis metro area.
This is the second year Fast Lane has joined forces with the foundation, and Jameson Leavell, Fast Lane Classic Cars marketing manager, says the partnership just makes sense. “We’re a family-owned business, and we’ve always been in this location, so we have a deep connection with St. Charles,” Jameson says. “We like to do things that keep us involved with the city, and this is a way for us to do that. The Dokaj Foundation works locally with kids who are going through awful things, and so it’s our way of giving back and having people enjoy the holidays with us.”
Joe Dokaj, of the Dokaj Foundation, says he and his brothers have been “blessed their whole lives,” and they wanted to find a way to give back to the community. They started with a toy drive during their senior year of high school—which collected far more toys than they had expected—and from there, they decided to continue giving back by creating the foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Now, they donate toys and video games to hospitals and shelters in the St. Louis area, as well as paying visits to critically ill children while dressed as their favorite superheroes. “Our mission is to give back as much as we can,” Joe says.
This year, Dokaj Foundation is specifically looking for new, unopened toys. Those items will bring cheer to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, as well as crisis nurseries in the area and other families in need. Fast Lane Classic Cars will collect donations through December 21, 2020.
While at Fast Lane, guests can stop by the gift shop to get a little something for the car-lover on their list and peruse three classic car showrooms with more than two hundred cars on display. Fast Lane Classic Cars is open 9 AM to 6 PM Mondays-Fridays and 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays. A mask or face covering is required inside the gift shop, showrooms, and offices.
