If you love wine, good food, and some light exercise (only a brief 3.1 miles!) the Vineyard Run hosted by Adam Puchta Winery in Hermann could be the perfect weekend event for you.

The Vineyard run, on June 28 of this year, is a 5K (3.1 mile) run through the scenic Adam Puchta vineyards. The race will begin at the bottom of Vineyard Hill at the winery and weave through a trail surrounded by vines—specifically, the vineyard’s Vignoles and Estate Norton grape vines. This race is a loop course, and will consist of two loops before reaching the finish line. While the hills of the winery create a challenging run, the race ends with a giant downhill finish.
At the finish line, participants can expect to receive a swag bag, a wine slushy, a finisher medal, and a t-shirt. The $55 ticket charge includes all finisher prizes, and the post-run slushy.
Even better, this event is a fundraiser for a local charity. “This year we’re fundraising for CASA with mid-east Missouri, and last year we fundraised for Hermann Community Christmas and raised $5,000 for them,” says Tammy Riddell, the sales room manager at Adam Puchta winery.
After the 5K, attendees are encouraged to attend the day-long Wine and Swine festival that will have local vendors, 21 artisan and craftsmen booths, barbecue, and wine tasting. Pappy’s Smokehouse, a local barbecue establishment rom St. Louis will be attending the event offering a Whole Hog Roast and pulled pork. Going through four different vineyards. 21 vendors will be putting on an arts and crafts fair.
The 5K race is from 7:30 AM – 10 AM, and the Wine and Swine Festival continues on from 10 AM – 6 PM.
