417 Charcuterie, 2672 S. Glenstone Ave., Springfield
For everyone who has been following 417 Charcuterie on social media and drooling over each beautifully arranged charcuterie board, there’s good news. This business just opened a new brick and mortar shop. Founder Courtney Williams officially opened the doors at the beginning of May. The new space is bright and airy and has seating if you want to enjoy a snack bowl or lunch box at the shop or if you want to brainstorm a larger girls night out board and assemble a picnic platter before heading out to the park. That’s good news for all the life-long snackers out there who love nothing more than a well-assembled meat and cheese spread.
Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Dr., Springfield
If you’re planning a visit to the Springfield Art Museum any time soon, be sure to check out the major renovations happening to Fassnight Creek. The small creek runs behind the art museum, and the construction happening around the waterway is actually tied to the museum’s much bigger renovation plans. There are four stages to the Master Plan, which you can check out online, but the end product will give the facade of the art museum a much more modern look. The final plan includes expanding outdoor exhibit space, increasing outdoor classrooms, and adding a glass-fronted wing that looks out on National Ave. Obviously, that’s just a snapshot of this ambitious project, so head online to learn about everything the museum has in store.
5 Pound Apparel, 412 South Avenue, Springfield
After about seven years, 5 Pound Apparel’s location at Farmers Park is no more. The outdoor– and Ozarks–themed clothing and accessories shop consolidated the southside location into its downtown shop while also giving the downtown store a freshened up look. Brina Thomas owns the shop with her husband Ben, but don’t let this move fool you. 5 Pound has no plans on slowing down, in fact, you can find all of the apparel and gear on it’s website—including the shop’s popular T-shirt club. And if you have an apparel business and looking for an expert design and production team to help you design and distribute some of the most eye catching printed products on the market, a good company like gold metallic screen printing services is always ready to help.
Bark Yard, 3110 E. Cherry Street, Springfield
This announcement is more for your doggos than for you, but we promise, you’ll also love it. Bark Yard—the newest doggy playground in town—is officially open for business. Bark Yard opened at the end of April and immediately offered an outdoor playground for pups in town. Bark Yard also has doggy day care, boarding and events, and there’s even something for the humans to enjoy. While your dogs race around, you can unwind on the patio with some food and beer. The menu here is surprisingly hefty. There are salads, chicken wings, flatbread pizzas, onion rings, sandwiches and even a whole kids’ menu!
