For free, frightening fun for families can be had at Ghost Light: A Haunted Night of Songs and Stories from KC’s Cultural Crossroads on October 21 and 22, at Roanoke Park in Kansas City. Food truck and family activities join the hybrid concert and ghost stories. Several of the artists will help revelers of all ages before the performance on Saturday between 4:30 and 7 p.m., so they can make masks or luminaries and join the Ghost Light Orchestra March in a Haunted Parade at 7 p.m. Stuart Carden, the Artistic Director for the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, puts the event together.  Ghost Light is free, and no tickets are required, but RSVPs are appreciated. Seating for this show is on a grass lawn and is ADA accessible. Parking is free and available at lots on the KCMO Parks grounds and the surrounding area. Food and drink trucks will be on-site and patrons are welcome to bring in their own food and drink. Restrooms are available in the Westport Roanoke Community Center. Roanoke Park is at 3601 Roanoke Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Grounds open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 21, and at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 22nd. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and last about two hours. For more information about the 2022-2023 season, call Ticketing Services, at 816-235-2700, or visit the Repertory Theatre’s website.
