Jefferson Landing State Historic Site is excited to host another season of live music on the Lohman Lawn. These are family-friendly, BYOC (bring your own chair) events, so bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic suppers for a summer of music that captures Missouri’s music traditions past and present.

In addition to all the fair food you can eat, all the rides you can handle, and tractor pulls and rodeo, the Cole County Fair has a great lineup of entertainers including Five Turn Knot, Sweet Addiction, David Nail, Trey Lewis, Saving Abel, and Buckcherry.
Prison Break & Catch Me If You Can – August 22
Test your athletic skills as you face hurdles to make your breakout of the historic Missouri State Penitentiary. Runners will set out on a 3+ mile trail and face a myriad of obstacles as they conquer the course. If the kiddos want to join the fun, sign them up for the adventure-filled Catch Me If You Can!

Missouri Patriot Day 25th Anniversary of 9/11
The Missouri Patriot Committee is honored to bring the Tunnel to Towers Never Forget Mobile Exhibit to Jefferson City from September 10 – 13, 2026, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
The exhibit will be located on the South Drive of the Missouri State Capitol and will be open to the public at no cost and will be staffed by New York City firefighters.
The September 11 commemoration ceremony will start at 5 pm with static displays around the South Drive of the Capitol with military, Task Force 1, and first responders’ vehicles. The ceremony will remember those who passed on 9/11 and conclude with the reading of the 2,977 victim names.
Show Me State Air Show – September 12-13
Celebrating veterans and military members is the focus of the air show! The air show’s line-up will feature a parachute team, several warbirds, military aircraft, aerobatics, and much more! Memorabilia from Vietnam, World War I, and World War II will also be on display. There’s plenty to do for all ages, making this the perfect family outing.
