JLiberty Parks & Recreation is hosting a kid-friendly spooky trail hunt throughout the month of October at Ruth Moore Park.
Kids will begin the spooky trail hunt with an activity sheet with a rhyme at the top: “One night, when the moon was high, a scary creature crept through Ruth Moore park. All the ghosts leapt in fright! They found a spot to hide in fear, before the creature got too near. They each got a peek, but just at one part, can you piece together a picture of the creature with your art?”
The adventure will start as kids try and piece together what this mysterious, creepy creature could be. Along the paved, half-mile trail and the green area of Ruth Moore park will be 10 ghosts in “hiding”. The 10 ghosts hidden around the park will will each be holding a clue that is necessary to piece the creature together. Once all 10 are found, kids will sketch the creature using their sleuthing and drawing skills.
Once kids have solved the mystery, they can travel to the Liberty Community Center, present their activity sheet, and receive a Halloween treat!

*”Prizes available for the first 500 children who complete the activity and return it to the Liberty Community Center. Limit one prize per child. There must be someone present for each activity sheet submitted. Completed activity sheets will be accepted through Nov. 1, or until all the prizes are gone!” (libertymissouri.gov)
This event will run each day from the park’s open to close (7 AM–7 PM) from October 18–31.
