Calling All Chalk Artists!

Got a talented chalk artist in the family? Plan on bringing knee pads or towels to sit on and your colored chalk to create masterpieces at the Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest on October 1 during Neosho’s Fall Festival.
Ages 6 to 15 can enter the contest for free, while ages 16 and up pay a $10 entry fee. Everyone who enters will receive a box of artist-grade chalks. The top prize in the Age 16 and up category is $300, but several hundred dollars will be awarded over all three age divisions, which also include 6–10 and 11–15. Details can be found here.
Chalking starts at 10 a.m. and judging begins at 2 p.m. Chalkers can sign up at the Neosho Arts Council booth on the southwest corner of the Neosho square on the day of the event, and in fact, anytime before judging begins.
While the chalker is hard at work, the rest of the family can enjoy the arts and crafts that are the heart of the Fall Festival on the historic courthouse square, which will also host local food trucks, family games and activities, live music, and more.
