Warrensburg residents learned they had reason to be excited on this day more than 152 years ago. The reason? Their burg was selected as the location for a new teachers’ college in the Show-Me state.
In 1919, the name was changed to Central Missouri State Teachers College. It was changed again in 1945, to Central Missouri State College.
