Foundation Established For Stephens College: January 17, 1857
Columbia Baptist Female College - today called Stephens College - incorporated on this date. Founded in 1833, the college came about with help from Senate Bill 406, according to a Missouri Senate history. This picture shows the institution’s Columbia Hall.
