Missouri History Today November 16, 1905: St. Louis’s First Getaway Car Heist

The first recorded holdup in which criminals used a getaway car happens in St. Louis. The five men held up a bar, robbed $40 and fled, leaving two of their colleagues behind. Police arrested the two.
