Missouri History Today November 4, 1822: Missouri’s Second General Assembly Bans Duels and More

by Missouri Life

The state’s second General Assembly kicked off on this date. During the session, legislatures banned duels (such as the one artistically imagined here circa 1899), incorporated St. Louis, founded Marion County, and developed early electoral districts, according to a history from the Missouri Senate.
