Taste Whiskey and Bourbon for a Good Cause

A first-time ever Whiskey and Bourbon Fest in the Ozark town will feature tastings of eight unique spirits. Two true Missouri bourbons will be there, as well as one malt whiskey from another country, along with several from Kentucky and two from other states. You’ll feel especially good after this tasting, because the money raised is for a good cause.
One of the organizers of the event at West Plains, MO, Eric Gibson, says he’s excited because he enjoys a good whiskey and a good bourbon, but he has only tried a couple of those that will be represented. He’s particularly pleased to have a couple of true Missouri bourbons and a malt whiskey all the way from Japan. The festival takes place in a saloon-style venue, and a pianist will be playing rag-time tunes to add to the atmosphere.
Tickets are $50 each for tasting, $10 for a non-tasting ticket. You will get a punch card to allow you to sample all eight whiskeys and bourbons being hosted at the event. Charcuterie board-style food will be available to buy, and a cash bar with beer, wine, and sodas will also be available.
The event is a fundraiser to help build the West Plains Community Foundation’s endowment so it can provide more support to local nonprofits.
The whiskeys and bourbons that will be sampled include:
Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Louisville, KY)
Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style Whiskey (Louisville, KY)
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Versailles, KY)
Yellow Rose Outlaw Bourbon Whiskey (Houston, TX)
Ben Holladay Bourbon (Weston, MO)
Shibui Pure Malt Whisky (Niigata, Japan)
Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey, (Fort Collins, Colorado)
