by Missouri Life

The Kitchen Grill & Games, TourDiscoveryPark.com/the-kitchen

Although this new complex is named The Kitchen, it will offer much more than just food. This dining and entertainment complex is set to open in the Spring of 2022. There are plans to have six indoor pickleball courts and four outdoor, a large yard with cabanas, three bars, shuffleboard and cornhole games, and an outdoor ice skating rink during the winter. Discovery Park is currently home to Park Restaurant, Horton Animal Hospital, Aria Apartments, and more. Additional businesses are set to be announced in the area soon.

Waypoint Brewing Company

Another taproom is coming to Columbia, but you’ve probably already tasted this beer. Waypoint Brewing Company, owned by Tyler Lasley and Ian LaGrace, is planning to open its first taproom soon. The brewing company currently only distributes kegs in Columbia. This beer can be found at International Tap House, Shakespeare’s Pizza – West, PaPPo’s Pizzeria & Pub, The Social Room, Pressed, McGinty’s, and Fretboard Coffee. For now, Waypoint Brewing Company is keeping their lips sealed about further details, but you can follow along on their social media for future updates.

Scooter’s Coffee, 2101 W Ash Street

An additional Scooter’s Coffee is being built on the corner of Stadium and Ash Street behind where the old Macy’s was housed. The shop offers smoothies, teas, breakfast sandwiches, bakery treats, and of course—coffee. This will be the third location in Columbia with the other two at 2501 Grindstone Parkway and 5 Hwy 63 South Columbia.

Crush Festival, September 18 and 19, 2021

The annual Crush Festival at Les Bourgeois Vineyards will be a two day event full of grape stomping, live music, yard games, and much more. Learn more about the festival here.
