From its origins in 1979 in Oban, Scotland, SEA LIFE now provides immersive marine experiences in nearly 50 locations in 17 countries around the world. It aims to share its  passion for the creatures of the oceans and to make its guests fall in love with them.

Since 2014, SEA LIFE has supported its global charity, the SEA LIFE Trust. In that time, it has helped provide vital practical care for marine animals through its sanctuaries, funding conservation projects and delivering campaigns that make a positive difference to marine habitat and wildlife across the world.

That care includes:

Creating new marine protected areas

Reducing marine litter

Protecting sea turtles

Rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing hundreds of sick and injured seal pups

Creating the world’s first beluga whale sanctuary in Iceland

The SEA LIFE Trust currently has two marine animal sanctuaries;

Its world-first Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland and its Cornish Seal Sanctuary in the UK.
