Cole Younger was paroled from prison after the botched Northfield, MN bank robbery and returned to Missouri on this date. He met with Frank James in Kansas City and organized the "Buckskin Wild West Show."

"Baseballís perfect warrior, baseballís perfect knight," hall of famer, Stan the Man Musial was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on this date in Missouri history.

When news broke that Charles Lindbergh was returning home from his goodwill tour of Mexico and South America, 100,000 people crowded the St. Louis riverfront to welcome him. When he saw the crowd, Lindbergh put on a stunt-flying show for them.

Birthday of Hall of Fame Cardinals catcher and sportscaster, Joe Garagiola. Joe grew up on The Hill in St. Louis with good friend, Yogi Berra.

Prohibition was in full swing and a 33,000 gallon vat of mash was discovered in St. Louis. The estimated capacity of the still was suggested to be 400 gallons per day.
