Olympic Star was Born

On February 27, 1881, Harry J. Kiener was born in St. Louis. Kiener was known for his boxing, wrestling and swimming and was a member of the U.S. track team at the 1904 Olympics in St. Louis.


Ozark Show Announced

On February 26, 2016, Netflix announced it would be doing a new television series starring Jason Bateman.  “Ozark” was to be a “dark drama” set and filmed around the Lake of the Ozarks.  Missouri laws made filming here prohibitive so it was played out in Georgia. 


Marine Engineer’s Association Formed

On February 25, 1875, the Marine Engineer’s Association was formed in St. Louis.  


Agricultural and Mines Schools Created

On February 24, 1870, the State Agricultural College and the Rolla School of Mines were created through the University of Missouri. 


Kinderhook to Camden County

On February 23, 1843, the Name of the County of Kinderhook was changed to Camden.  


Candlelight Vigil in Springfield
