They say the house always wins, but community takes the jackpot at Vintage Vegas Casino Night. Sponsored by Vision Carthage, the event features food, drink, and plenty of casino-style fun. Proceeds benefit local charitable initiatives.

Those lucky to be in the vicinity of Carthage, Missouri, can enjoy live casino gaming without traveling to Las Vegas when Vision Carthage sponsors its first Vintage Vegas Casino Night on Saturday, April 27.

“We really have nothing like this fundraiser with a casino-night theme in our community,” says Vision Carthage Executive Director Leanna Canfield. “We thought it would be fun to bring actual casino tables and dealers to town.”

Guests can enjoy nine casino tables plus a designated section for bingo. Tickets are $50 per person, paid in advance and purchased online. Each ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, game chips, and complimentary drink tickets.

“One of our board members had attended a casino night for another organization about 10 years ago and mentioned how much fun it was,” Leanna says. “We also really liked the idea of a 1920s theme to connect with the Vegas idea.”

A live auction will feature a custom poker table and chip rack crafted and donated by Lost Mill Woodworking, a Jasper County-based woodworking company.

She’s also eager for the live auction featuring a custom poker table and chip rack crafted and donated by Lost Mill Woodworking, a Jasper County-based woodworking company specializing in gaming tables. “We are super excited about this table,” Leanna says, noting other items such as designer handbags, gift baskets, and other goodies will be raffled as well.

Live music will add to the ambiance. “We are hoping this evening will be really special,” Leanna says.

Proceeds will benefit Vision Carthage initiatives, which include providing financial assistance to local homeowners for renovations and repairs, a grant-assistance program for local nonprofits, and downtown business façades building grants.

“Our whole goal is to make Carthage even better,” Leanna says.
