Fresh from the family farm, Cedar Creek Hardwoods is bringing the beauty of Missouri native wood to those who want to capture that Show-Me style in their own personal way.
John and Kathie Thompson started the family-owned business near Fredericktown in 1985. Today, the second generation—Dmitri, Amy, and Adam Thompson, and Mark Francis—run the southeast Missouri company. Cedar Creek’s custom items are shipped throughout the United States.
The company caters to both retail and wholesale clients who want custom wood products, such as moldings, interior doors, solid wood countertops and tabletops, stair parts, and wide-plank flooring. The business’s website is the first stop for shoppers to browse for products or ideas. Once they know what they want, the next step is to contact the business through the website—where they can include photos of ideas they like—or by phone. A personal meeting explores specific design ideas and lets customers view inventory samples firsthand.
“We are set up to change very quickly for trends because there is a really good chance that it’s an easy thing for us to make when someone sees a picture,” Dmitri says.
Jennifer Francis, customer relations specialist, helps out with design, color selection, sizing, and ordering.
“Extreme attention to detail is the most important component,” says Mark. “Whatever our client is trying to achieve, we want to provide them with products that are timeless.”
