Saturday, March 8 from 2 PM – 2:30 PM at the Columbia Public Library is the Summer Garden Planning Workshop hosted by the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture (CCUA).
This workshop is an adult-level class where people can plan ahead for gardening healthy crops of tomatoes, peppers, and other plants in their gardens this spring and summer. In addition to education and planning for a garden, those attending will also be able to ask the CCUA staff personalized questions about their garden, while also forming new relationships with others interested in gardening.
A few of the activities will include:
- Practicing using square-foot gardening techniques
- Creating a planting map for your summer garden
- Learning how to control weeds
- Learning how to prevent common nutrient deficiencies and mitigate disease issues
