It was "Dizzy Dean Week" in St. Louis in celebration of the movie The Pride of St. Louis. Dizzy was in town for the week and said he didn't care if it wasn't exactly accurate.

The Kansas City Monarchs beat Babe Ruth and his all-star team in Kansas City.  

President Taft didn’t want to offend either set of fans so, on this day, he attended part of the Cardinals game at Robison Field then scooted over to Sportsman’s Park for the rest of the Browns game.    

Satchel Paige was inducted into Baseball’s Hall of Fame.
