El Torreon Opened

On December 16, 1927, the doors opened to what became the most popular ballroom in Kansas City.  The El Torreon was at 31st and Gillham Plaza. 


Mizzou Beats Kansas at Arrowhead

On November 27, 2007 Mizzou beats undefeated Kansas 36-28 at Arrowhead Stadium, elevating the Tigers to the No. 1 ranking in the polls. Chase Daniel threw for 361 yards in the win.


First National FFA Convention

November 20, 1928 was the very first National FFA Convention was held in Kansas City.  


Paseo Bridge Closed

On November 19, 2010 the old Paseo Bridge in K.C. was closed in favor of its new replacement. 


Debut of Mickey Mouse

November 18, 1928, was the debut of Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney was quoted as saying, “I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing—that it was all started by a mouse.” He was talking, of course, about Mickey Mouse, who made his debut in Disney’s first sound-synchronized animated film, Steamboat Willie. Disney’s impact on generations of children is impossible to measure, and his career started in Missouri.

This unique dip comes from the former Eden’s Alley, a restaurant that had a long run, a quarter of a century in Kansas City, before closing. Eden’s Alley still shares their plant-based recipes on their website, which still supports and promotes plant-based diets and whole foods, minimally processed.
