Giant Snowstorm

On December 2, 2006, the central part of the state received over a foot of snow and east-central Missouri got ice on this day. A bunch of homes and businesses in St. Louis were without electricity.  


Caruthersville Bridge was Completed

On December 1, 1976, the Caruthersville Bridge across the Mississippi was completed on this day. 


Lewis and Clark Camped by the Meramec River

On November 30, 1803, Lewis and Clark camped just north of the Meramec River in what is now St. Louis County.  


Monsanto Company was Founded

On November 29, 1901, the Monsanto Company was founded in St. Louis by John F. Queeny.  


SLU Wins Soccer Championship

On November 28, 1959, Saint Louis University wins the first-ever NCAA Divison 1 Men’s Soccer Championship. SLU Billikens soccer team won a national title against the University of Bridgeport 5-2, finishing the season 11-1.


Mizzou Beats Kansas at Arrowhead

On November 27, 2007 Mizzou beats undefeated Kansas 36-28 at Arrowhead Stadium, elevating the Tigers to the No. 1 ranking in the polls. Chase Daniel threw for 361 yards in the win.


Pathfinder Stranded in Mountain

On November 26, 1848 the Great Pathfinder, John C. Fremont, “Old Bill” Williams and other Missourians chose the wrong pass and became stranded in a severe Rocky Mountain winter.  


Evaporated Milk Patented

On November 25, 1884 John B. Meyenberg, an immigrant from Switzerland residing in St. Louis, patented evaporated milk.   


Riots in Ferguson

November 24, 2014 was the worst night so far of rioting, looting, and arson in Ferguson. The officer who had been involved in a shooting was cleared by a Grand Jury and this enraged some. 


Train Collision

On November 23, 1916 a Frisco passenger train collided head-on with a Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific freight train near Una, Missouri.  Dozens of people injured.
