International Arms Reduction Treaty Goes Into Effect
On December 5, 1994 the International Arms Reduction Treaty goes into force. Minuteman missile silos across the state of Missouri were decommissioned after the treaty, signed in 1991, between the United States and Russia went into effect. These were underground, fully operational, high-alert facilities spread across 14 counties in middle and western Missouri.
