This big parade honors veterans on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11. The grand marshal is a World War II veteran who will be in his uniform and the 135th Army Band will lead the parade.
Other bands include marching bands from area schools, and Bob Sarver, the parade director, says many participants will include U.S. Coast Guard veterans, Vietnam veterans, Korean veterans, the Ozark 11th Airborne that served in Vietnam, Navy groups, and even the Daughters of the American Revolution in period costumes. The Branson Veterans of America, Chapter 913 hosts the parade and other events to honor veterans.
A sunrise service at Point Lookout at the College of the Ozarks takes place at 7 am the same day.
This year, the parade starts at 11 am and will begin at the Branson Convention Center and wind 2.5 miles through Branson Landing and Downtown Branson back to the Convention Center.
