Missouri History Today August 12, 1905: Bird Cage Spurs Conversation Of Forest Park Zoo

The St. Louis Zoo can credit its founding in part to an idea floated on this date in 1905. The proposal called for Forest Park to host the new facility, anchored by the giant bird cage used during the World’s Fair.
