Missouri History Today December 15, 2006: Deadly Ice Storm Prompts President Bush To Intervene

Eleven Missourians die and more than 300,000 go without power in a major winter storm that drops 2 inches of ice and a foot and a half of snow. On this date, Governor Matt Blunt asked President George W. Bush to declare a major disaster to bring public assistance to counties hit hardest, according to a history from the State Emergency Management Agency of Missouri.
