Missouri History Today December 16, 1964: Wallower Family Departs Missouri Southern State

Frank and Juanita Wallower and their cows–Jerseys and Herefords–depart the Mission Hills estate, a mansion located on the campus of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, according to a history on the university’s website. They donated the land. Frank Wallower served as president of American Zinc Institute and helped set up the Jane Chinn Hospital in Webb City, among other accomplishments. This picture shows the George A. Spiva Library building at Missouri Southern.
