Frank and Juanita Wallower and their cows–Jerseys and Herefords–depart the Mission Hills estate, a mansion located on the campus of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, according to a history on the university’s website. They donated the land. Frank Wallower served as president of American Zinc Institute and helped set up the Jane Chinn Hospital in Webb City, among other accomplishments. On February 5, 1911, the second Missouri State Capitol was destroyed by fire. A bolt of lightning hit the dome of the Missouri State Capitol, sparking a fire that tore through the building. Firefighters across mid-Missouri rushed to Jefferson City to try and save the building.
