An estimated crowd of 3,000 faithful fans gathered in the area of Tucker Blvd. and Washington Street on a sweltering night to watch the final episode of NBC’s long running hit TV series “Seinfeld.”
Set in New York CIty, the show about nothing turned out to really be something. Fans brought lawn furniture, blankets, coolers, and more. The night even included costumed character look-alikes, including one woman who did “the Elaine dance.”
At 7:45 pm the farewell episode was projected onto a large screen on the side of a building. Fans watched with misty eyes as Jerry’s “Hello, Newman,” became a “Goodbye, Newman.”
