Missouri History Today October 4, 1998: Kansas City Deluge: Flash Flooding Shocks Chiefs-Seahawks Game

Flash flooding in metro Kansas City dumps more than 7” of rain in places and swamps a Kansas City Chiefs-Seattle Seahawks game in front of millions of TV viewers. Eleven people died, most of them at night in cars swept up in the storm. The event caused more than $50 million in damage, according to a National Weather Service history.
